On leave for a few days....
I'm on leave for a few days, but if I get a chance, I'll post details of the Capacity Builders conference I attended on th 18th March. It was very interesting and threw up a few things that inspired those there. More to follow......
I began working life as a plumber, joined the army as a Royal Engineer, saw service in Northern Ireland and Cyprus, before leaving to start my own business as a plumber and heating engineer. I moved to North Wales, where I eventually swapped my job for my hobby, when I landed a role at Pengwern Hall, Mencap's College in North Wales. I developed a Rare Breeds Farm Park which we opened to the public, a form of 'reverse integration'. After 7 years, I moved on to become a Training and Development Co-ordinator for Anheddau Cyf, in Bangor North Wales, where I developed their 'in house' training, nvqs, health and safety and quality assurance systems.
After several years, I moved to Cartref Ni, to do much the same thing, I was with them for over 5 years before I left for pastures new. After a short spell out of the Care Sector, I was enticed back, by an offer of a short term contract to manage the move of ARC's consortium, from Evesham to Chesterfield, and to head up the newly recruited team. After 5 months in the job, I was offered the role of Training Services Manager as a permanent position.
